Ruggiero, Vic
Stuff In My Pockets
Brand new solo album from the globally respected all-rounder from Brooklyn. CD in digipack with 8-page booklet and limited LP (550 copies, marbled multicolored vinyl) with 4c insert on RING OF FIRE. Since the beginning of the nineties, VICTOR RUGGIERO has had an unprecedentedly diverse music career. With his best-known band, THE SLACKERS, he has released a good 20 albums and toured the world, when studio and live musicians with US punks RANCID repeatedly entered even bigger stages. But VIC is a thoroughbred musician through and through - far more numerous are his contributions in smaller and less well-known bands and projects, be it as a permanent musician, guest, songwriter or producer. He's also been releasing solo albums, as a one-man band and with a studio line-up since the late '90s, and while he's primarily known as a ska and reggae musician, the multi-instrumentalist and gifted singer has always been a huge fan of all kinds of roots styles. Folk, blues, rock'n'roll, country, soul, garage, glam and proto-punk characterize his solo work, so it's no wonder that "Stuff In My Pocket" is like a lucky bag of the finest song pearls from the late sixties comes along, held together by his distinctive Brooklyn-accented vocals, which are unmistakable with their wistful, melancholic timbre. "Stuff In My Pocket" is nothing less than a musical masterpiece!
