The Origin Of Energy
The Origin of Energy is the third full-length album by Rhinestone Lives. This follow-up to 2007 release Exit Wounds brings a new emotional landscape to the already blossoming Rhinestone Lives repertoire. The Origin of Energy, recorded at Studio Moliere in March 2009, is held together thematically with lyrical images of stormy seas and screaming for God through the waves. The songs that make the record range from danceable pop-rock tunes, epic stories of love and loss to the finely crafted heartwarming songs that make Rhinestone Lives so real. With the help of Eric Renwart and a group of passionate musicians, Marja, who is the only permanent member and songwriter of this musical journey, was able to create a clear sounding record. Rhinestone Lives is like the sea braving the forces of nature. In calm, it shines clear and wide - in storm, all the power is unleashed into violent waves and dark waters. Whatever the mood, Rhinestone Lives morphs into what is needed to express it. What started as the singer-songwriter project of Finnish -born Brussels-based artist Marja Supponen has developed over the years, and three full-length albums, into a somewhat more unexpected musical combo. Surrounding herself with musicians, Marja readapts Rhinestone Lives to suit her current musical inspirations. This evolution has taken her from dark-folk, through warm acoustic pop arrangements to a more mature pop-rock sound. Marja Supponen is a Finnish-born, Brussels-based singer -songwriter inspired by life, love and the little epiphanies of the world. She has released 3 full-length albums as Rhinestone Lives since 2004 and one EP with alternative rock band Deaf Dialogue in 2004.
