Random 40 Heavyroll
Over a decade ago, we released new music with the Solingen cult band RANDOM around the "Nietenpapst" and now we're back! For the band's 40th anniversary, we were in the studio for the first time since 2009 to record new songs, says Enrico "Rico" Palazzo (lead vocals). The anniversary production took three years to complete, but now the work is finished. We began in 2020, and for the first four songs, I recorded the vocals in an intense six-hour marathon. Eleven more tracks followed, totaling 17 songs, all recorded at the legendary Schallsucht studio also known as the living room of "Extrabreit." A big thanks goes to sound engineer Thorsten and sound technician Michael Danielak, who did a fantastic job. And of course, also to studio dog Eddie (smiles). The anniversary edition will be released as a limited vinyl edition and includes a CD with four bonus tracks, as well as an elaborate 16-page booklet. A DVD offering exclusive insights into the band's history, including material from the European tours and cult interviews (e.g., with Playmate Nadine Tschanz), rounds out the package perfect for fans and collectors, especially around Christmas time. We are particularly proud of our musical ventures into classical music. Brass from horns, saxophones, and trumpets, conducted by Viktor Filippo, add an entirely new dimension to the songs. Viktor has also released a songbook for the Christmas season, which includes the sheet music and lyrics for the anniversary tracks. An exciting production the result speaks for itself!
