Polis
Pilger
The dawn of a new cultural era is breaking! With their new album PILGER, Polis reawaken a sublime spirit. The band counters an age of superficiality and digital coldness with a new German Romanticism: A poetic language, speaking of introspection, longing, and confrontation with the abyss, soars above powerful rock bombast. Christian Roscher's unique voice crowns the warm analog sound of Hammond organ, Moog synthesizers, and artful guitar arrangements, as well as a powerful and dynamic rhythm section. Psychedelic in the best sensesoul-stirringPILGER is dark and introspective, yet imbued with a clear optimism. A hero's journey from the first note to the last, revitalizing the art form of the concept album. Polis is a collective of five artistic personalities, united in the desire to be a new beacon of light for the ailing German cultural landscape through authentic art. Authenticity as an uncompromising decision to create something great together. Music whose feelings and thoughts contain the ingredients of a better, more humane world. A person deeply connected to themselves and others, rooted in creation. This vision should be made tangible through music. PILGER was recorded in the band's own Weltklang recording studio, just like its predecessor, WELTKLANG, which was mixed at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios by Grammy Award winner Oliver Jacobs. To give the new album a somewhat harder sound, none other than the pillars of German alternative rock, Kurt Ebelhäuser (Blackmail, Guano Apes, Donots, Long Distance Calling, and many more) and Andreas Jung (Beatsteaks, Peter Fox, and many more), were entrusted with the mixing and mastering. This music wants more. It wants everything. It demands revolution. It's not background music, not accompaniment. It polarizes: it disturbsor moves. It's like Novalis meeting Sterncombo Meißena unique journey!
