DÉcoudre

After an EP in 2017 and their first album 'Bowling' in 2021, the trio PELOUSE, composed with Xavier Machault, Quentin Biardeau, and Martin Debisschop, returns with découdre. A ten-track record where rhythm machines, feverish saxophone, synths, and thick basses engage in a dialogue with sensitive lyrics, sometimes intimate or political, sometimes surreal or poetic. For this new opus, the group has worked in a more focused musical universe, both wild and subtle, where electronic rock and contemporary French song blend. The group continues to maintain its singularity, making it quite unclassifiable, somewhere between Dominique A and LCD Soundsystem, between Brigitte Fontaine and Morphine. This unique aspect is partly explained by the artistic anchoring of the three musicians: Xavier Machault has always explored diverse forms around song and poetry. Quentin Biardeau grew up in improvised music and contemporary jazz before expanding his spectrum to electronic production. Martin Debisschop has long worked in rock and roll before opening up to experimental music and prepared instruments. Echoing our fractured and absurd 660, skillfully wielding the art of deviation, PELOUSE is not afraid to lead us towards abysses. In both content and form, PELOUSE joyfully skirts the limits of reason.
