Ojm
Volcano
This record marks the bands maturity as well as yet another change in its style. the 10 tracks in this new album define OJM as the ultimate paragon for the Italian stoner-rock scene, conveying vibes that are consistent with the manifesto of this genre, yet sailing in neat strokes towards amazing bordering territories. The excellent starter "Ill Be Long" was during this winters gigs had us all anticipating the bands new turns, and yet noone could have imagined such an outcome: consistent and yet multi-faceted, enriched by the skillful production a guru such as Dave Catching, deus ex machina of the Earthlings (along with Pete Stahl). DC was also constantly present in Rancho De La Lunas releases in the year 2000, from the Desert Sessions to Queens Of The Stone Age and Eagles Of Death Metal. "Volcano" is a record you should listen in one sit, enjoying the head-made single "Venus God", the ultra-70s vibes of "Rainbow", the psychedelic and liquid sound of "Ocean Hearts", the dark atmospheres of "Wolf", the aforementioned "Ill Be Long" and the magnificent and dooming ending provided by "2012".
