Notes To Myself
Calle Agua
A new full length album which the band considers a synthesis of their previous work, with some new kinks and possibly their definitive recorded statement to date. Composed over a year of relaxed Sunday morning sessions at a flat where two of the band were living (whose Málaga street provides the record with its title), it was recorded with close friend and producer Borja Pérez, at his studio La Nave Hermosa (Toledo) over a scorching week in summer 2025. The album showcases the band's versatility with anthemic indie rock, emo-adjacent epics, moody post-punk, shoegaze, lo-fi and synthwave, without ever losing sight of their identity, presented in a compact 38 minute package. The lyrics encompass hopes & dreams, fears, fond memories, self-destruction, middle age, the loss of loved ones and open-ended questions, and are sung both in English and Spanish. More than a mere exercise in nostalgia, "Calle Agua" is a statement of musical growth, the rollercoaster that is life and the eternal flame of friendship. Notes to Myself sound like a band that's arrived exactly where it wants to be.
