"4 folk songs about modern Ireland" is the subtitle of this unique EP following his 2006 debut album "The Sins Of Sainte Catherine". The whole EP is an semi-seriously affront against the forces of evil around his hometown Dublin and the increasing rate of street hassle, violent talk and crime rate. The first song already kicks in with its dark lyrics told by the deep and powerful voice of Stefan Murphy. "Death Threats is a polite fuck-off to the people in society who think that you should fear them." A further highlight of this EP is a cover of the Irish traditional "The Mero" which was recorded with folk legend RONNIE DREW and members of US-folk-punk-heroes FLOGGING MOLLY as well as PETE CUMMINS. Altogether it is an EP with a acoustic touch, beautiful songs, great lyrics like "Romantic Ireland is dead and gone, it lays with 2Pac in the grave!" and catchy melodies coming along with occasional piano, banjo and fiddle parts. A perfect soundtrack for all of us who like to think about life. But not without a well drafted beer in front of them.
