Canadian-born Chris "Klondike" Masuak was a teenage prodigy guitarist when he joined pioneering '70's Australian band Radio Birdman. He also contributed his remarkable guitar playing and songwriting skills in other now-legendary Sydney acts like The Hitmen, The Screaming Tribesmen and an early incarnation of the New Christs. Never one to stand still or rest on his laurels, Chris spent five decades contributing to countless musical projects as well as releasing music under his own name. CHRIS MASUAK'S DOG SOLDIER is his latest project, a rocking trio with his Aussie cohorts Stuart Wilson (Lime Spiders, Van Ruin, New Christs, Aberration) and Phil Hall (Lime Spiders). Obviously, this will appeal to fans of Chris's work with Radio Birdman, the Hitmen and the Screaming Tribesmen as you'll find hints of those bands within this record, but Chris' solo work really inhabits its own niche. This is raucous rock'n'roll with truckloads of power, a mountain of melody and a whole lotta pop hooks, all rendered in that trademark Masuak style. A couple of tracks here riff so hard that you might catch yourself headbanging!
