Manic Standstill, The
Moving
'Moving' is the powerful, melodic, and dynamic debut full-length album from Los Angeles-based punk rock band The Manic Standstill. The Manic Standstill is a trio consisting of vocalist and songwriter Adam Bones (known for his work with Save Ferris, Richie Ramone, Josie Cotton, and The Two Tens), bassist Eddy Hewitt, and drummer Brad Dickert. At its core, 'Moving' is a punk record, pulling clear influences from bands like Descendents, Bad Religion, and the Ramones. But it's also flavored with power pop and straight-up rock, and the record is replete with catchy hooks and unforgettable melodies. Featuring the singles "Reasons Why", "Bulletproof", and "Go Away" (feat. Nicolette Vilar), 'Moving' is packed with 12 hook-laden, guitar-driven punk rock gems. 'Moving' is absolutely jam-packed with featured guests, including members of The Aquabats, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Dollyrots, and Go Betty Go. "It was incredibly moving that everyone was so eager to help out," says Bones about the extensive list of prominent featured guests. "As an artist, it's easy to doubt yourself and your work, but the enthusiasm everyone showed towards making this album definitely lifted my spirits and warmed my heart." Featured guests on 'Moving' include: Ian Fowles (The Aquabats), Kevin Preston (Prima Donna), Kody Templeman (Teenage Bottlerocket, The Lillingtons), Nicolette Vilar (Go Betty Go), Aixa Vilar (Go Betty Go), Michelle Rangel (Go Betty Go), Jonah Nimoy, Kelly Ogden & Luis Cabezas (The Dollyrots), Drew Champion (Suzi Moon), Paul Roessler (The Screamers), Packy Lundholm (I Fight Dragons), "Lights Out" Levine (Prima Donna), "Little" Dave Parker (Billy Liar, Johnny Madcap & the Distractions), Ari Shine. The album also features production by Davey Warsop (NOT, Beat Union, Suedehead, Sharp Shock).
