Am I Supposed To Run ?
This album is a mix of all of the emotions that I might have felt during this strange time that is teenage-hood, through 11 songs written between 2018 and 2021. I consider this album as an intimate retrospective of the worst as well as the best moments and experiences that have happened to me during these last few years of my life. The album does not focus on one single story. I'd rather describe it as a conversation with myself through music, where I can safely discuss first times and new emotions. The album gravitates around people I have met and reflections I have had that have helped me understand who I am. Writing this album allowed me to finally find what / who I needed to run away from in order to truly accept myself. Throughout these 11 songs, the answer to my question « Am I Supposed to Run ? » will slowly form itself. I see the act of running as being something positive and negative all at once : I have felt the need to run in order to escape, but I have also wanted to run towards a brighter future that awaits me. « Am I Supposed to Run ? » is an ode to change and personal growth. It is a sample of my own vulnerability put into music.
