Wonderland
Frank Wildhorn's WONDERLAND - inspired by, but not entirely based on, the books by Lewis Carroll - will be released on a double CD on May 16th. Featuring a revised book and available for the first time in German, this live recording of the production from the Landestheater Linz is a milestone in the history of the musical. After the Broadway premiere in 2011, it may be late, but so is the White Rabbit. And that's when he first discovers Wonderland. WONDERLAND is an ode to imagination and childlike intuition - the surreal adventures of a cult figure we all know become a contemporary parable about the importance of not losing one's inner child. Frank Wildhorn's wonderful, Broadway-esque music gives the characters depth and describes them - in all their insane diversity - lovingly and with a wink. Listeners to this new production can expect a genre-spanning soundtrack that effortlessly combines swing, Santana, epic villain songs and emotional ballads, bringing to life a wonderland where lascivious flamingos, sulking chess pieces and tango-dancing lions become the norm
