Lohrer, Eric -et Jean-charles Richard-
L(eg)acy
Today, Éric Löhrer and Jean-Charles Richard come together around the work of Steve Lacy. These virtuoso and accomplice companions played in a quartet in the 2010s, and we find them in the purity of the duo, interlacing sparkling in the night of silence. At the age of 16, Eric attended his first jazz concert, Steve Lacy in a duet with Mal Waldron, while a little later, Jean-Charles worked privately with the master of the soprano saxophone. Lacy's work brings them together in more ways than one: multi-faceted, open, melody-centric, often multi-disciplinary - poetry, dance - free of dogma without fear of tradition... L(EG)ACY draws its repertoire from the catalog of compositions by the master and the galaxy of musicians who surrounded and inspired him, Monk first and foremost. Originals punctuate this intimate, adventurous and captivating program. A lyrical tribute to this free spirit of twentieth-century jazz, whose centenary is celebrated in 2024.
