Jazz pianist Raphaël Lemonnier and his musicians from the Trova Project present a revisited score of the Trova (old Cuban songs) with a repertoire that combines Cuba from the 1930s and 1950s, blues, jazz and song from the french repertoire. In this musical cabaret where Piaf, Satie, Becaud meet the Cuba of Maria Teresa Vera, Osvaldo Farrès, Las Faez and other greats of the Trova, Raphaël Lemonnier reminds us that these songs, whether Cuban or French, are timeless, universal and far beyond borders and musical styles. Each of these interpretations gives us new flavors and it is our memory that is re-inventing itself.
