The legendary (fusion) rock formation KRAAN is back with a brilliant studio album. "Sandglass" appears on CD in digipack format and as a vinyl edition on 36MUSIC. Ten years after the release of their last studio album "Diamonds" and 50 years after the band was founded, the legendary (fusion) rock formation KRAAN is finally back with a new studio album to the delight of their fans. And it was definitely worth the wait. The virtuoso playful band on "Sandglass" celebrates its innovative, completely timeless mix of rock and jazz, enriched with psychedelic and funk elements, both casually and confidently. The thirteen brand new compositions, characterized by refined harmonies and grooves, sound wonderfully fresh, melodically relaxed and electrifying. While the exceptional bassist HELLMUT HATTLER, together with drummer JAN FRIDES, elegantly and powerfully provide the refined, grooving rhythm, guitarist PETER WOLBRANDT fascinates with his urgent and intricately delicate string and synthesizer skills. Always homogeneous in the interplay, the trio manages to keep its band-typical, weightless group sound and at the same time come up with new, surprising ideas (and occasional pop appeal). On the track "Moonshine On Sunflowers" some samples from the long-time KRAAN keyboardist INGO BISCHOF, who died last year, are used, which come from the HELLMUT HATTLER sound archive.
