Piano player Juraj Stanik plays fresh modern jazz and is inspired by Herbie Hancock, Mulgrew Miller, John Coltrane, Miles Davis and other great musicians, without ignoring his own creativity. With musical ideas, elaborated on the basis of his academic musical education the number of his compositions is constantly being extended. Many times a subtle reminiscence of Chopin, Debussy, Ravel, Bartok and Messiaen can be heard in his musical concepts. Many of his compositions are specially written for his piano trio with Joost van Schaik on drums and Frans van der Hoeven on Bass. "Thinking of the trio I prefer to play and write more intimate, chamber like music. Of course there is always room for dynamic gestures"
