Jena

Womandile

Jena is a southern metal band native of northern Italy. The band was founded in 2013 and is composed of Guido Richini, Nicolas Bettineschi, Carlo Pedersoli and Fabio Giorgi. The different influences of each component, the shared passion for bands like Pantera and Down together in long sessions, allowing the band to find their own sound which is reflected in the great friendship between the group and the desire to create their own music : powerful, decisive and never boring. Following the EP called "Jena" self-produced and sung entirely in Italian, in 2015 the band produced the first studio work, "Womandile" for Go Down Records. The nine songs on the album are a mix of blues melodies with powerful riffs and primitive, lauding the anger, the fight for survival and the pursuit of freedom. The disc opens with "The Spark" brief introduction to the second acoustic track "Cavemen's Rage" piece with shades trash, fast and violent (Pantera). "Eyes of the War" is the third song, oriented on a slower rhythm and a guitar stoner (Kyuss). "A-Train" is perhaps the piece that most represents the band, rhythmic riffs and very compact and vocal line reminiscent Down. "Womandile" is the song that gives the title track, melodies southern sometimes "ramshackle" is inspired to bands like Down and Black Label Society. "Bounty Hunter" along high speed rhythmic stoner (Orange Goblin) "Red-Blooded Sun" is a reflective moment, acoustic and sad ... stoner atmospheres, almost psychedelic. (Down, Black Label Society) "Mean Machine" echoes the line fast and stoner of "Bounty Hunter", with some nuances trash (Pantera, Orange Goblin). "Dreaming Van Cleef" is the end of the disc and of the trip, southern melodies and blues shades reminiscent Lynryd Skynryd and Down.
