Jack & The Rippers
I Think It's Over
Finally available again: the complete compilation of studio recordings of the Swiss punk pioneers JACK & THE RIPPERS as an LP with printed insert on DIRTY FACES. Also in Switzerland at the end of the 70s, a small but fine scene quickly operated under the label "Swiss Punk". JACK & THE RIPPERS were founded in Geneva as early as 1977, which together with genre colleagues such as KLEENEX, BASTARDS, TNT or MOTHER'S RUIN belonged to the spearhead of the federal punk revolt. After only a few concerts, the band was history again eight months later, but had already recorded the ten songs summarized here in studio quality, of which "No Desire" and "Feel Like A Tram" appeared posthumously as 7" vinyl in 1979. Since the majority of rippers musicians were already busy getting together in the newly founded band THE ZERO HEROES, the old recordings remained in oblivion for a long time - until 2005 this retrospective was first released as a CD and LP on DIRTY FACES. The ten songs, which are all original compositions in addition to the LENNON number "Cold Turkey" and "Automobile" by The RINGS, are true gems between 77 punk rock, mod pop pop and 60's Garage. Now they have finally been pressed again - in cooperation with the US label PUKE N VOMIT.
