Italian Instabile Orchestra
Plays Ellington
With "Plays Ellington", the over thirty-year artistic activity of the ITALIAN INSTABLE ORCHESTRA, a historic project of Italian avant-garde jazz, is enriched with a new recording chapter. The band without individual leadership, whose members are simultaneously soloists and composers, engages in this live performance recorded in Portugal in 2013, in the personal revisitation of some immortal pages by Duke Ellington, through the arranger work of Giancarlo Schiaffini acting also as also director of the orchestra for the occasion. The result is surprising and striking for the variety of solutions and freshness of the approach of all the components.
