Ikan Method, The
Perfect Tyranny
Perfect Tyranny is the second album by The Ikan Method project, created by Luca Grosso, a drummer and composer with numerous collaborations both live and in the studio with big international names such as Steve Hackett, David Cross, Richard Sinclair, Billy Sherwood, Clive Bunker, Bernardo Lanzetti and many others. The record is inspired by progressive rock of the 80s and 90s, with melodic and catchy but at the same time very energetic songs, with influences ranging from metal to AOR, with dissonant inserts. Perfect Tyranny uses a filtered reinterpretation of all these styles, with its own personality. The musical references of The Ikan Method can be identified mainly in neo-prog bands such as Pallas, IQ, Sylvan, Arena. The lyrics deal with how, more and more , in the digital age the individual is treated as an entity that must be controlled and educated to consume, without having behaviors that diverge from the prevailing single thought. From this concept arise questions and considerations in people who, knowing that they cannot totally escape from the system, try to live consciously through the meshes of this global network in which they are trapped.
