HINÜBER make music about what remains when you've stopped pretending. About the small exhaustions that can't be dramatized. About states of being, not events. Their debut album, HAPPY PICTURES, is released on Flight 13 / Rookie Records and it sounds exactly like that: precisely blurred, melodically worn down, somewhere between rebellion and resignation, without committing to either. The band with backgrounds from ex-bands like NEIN NEIN NEIN and KOETER, scattered between Cologne, Bielefeld, and Mönchengladbach has waited long enough to know what they want to say. HAPPY PICTURES isn't an eruption. It's the inventory taken afterward. Thirteen songs that promise no escape, but don't need one either. Punk with post-punk and emo influences labels that fit and yet don't quite do it justice. The term that truly applies was coined by the band themselves: state-pop. HAPPY PICTURES: thirteen songs about what burns inside and doesn't stop outside. Where one ends and the other begins HINÜBER leaves that open.
