Hellmouth

Gravestone Skylines

Coming off an uncompromising debut (2009s Destroy Everything. Worship Nothing.), Hellmouth continue to lay waste to their contemporaries on their sophomore effort, Gravestone Skylines. The bands diverse makeup - led by Suicide Machines vocalist Jason Navarro - as well as their hometown (the perpetually bleak Detroit) yield a desolate amalgamation of punk, hardcore and metal; think members of Descendents, Black Flag, and Metallica forming a blasphemy-spitting supergroup. Although some black-metal undertones appear occasionally thanks to the rapid-fire drumming of Justin Malek, Gravestone Skylines is primarily rooted in riff-laden thrash-punk, with several tracks brutalizing eardrums in less than two minutes, and some housing Navarros most blood-curdling screams to date.
