The Haunted Lemon
Heeka brings us her 1st album, recorded near Montpellier at Studio Briat, at Mirador Sound Studio and in some houses at the foot of the Pyrenees during some moments of solitude. The Haunted Lemon is like an ever-present acidity, an unhealable graze where every drop of juice extracted is like the promise of a new dawn. Ten tracks that take us on a journey between raw rock and flayed folk, where saturated guitars, delicate pianos and vocal harmonies intermingle. It tells us about ghosts, chases with ghosts, paths taken, stories untold, detours, returns, scares, shadows and the occasional ray of sunshine through a tinted window. It's an album whose common thread is her voice: soft, fragile, powerful, bewitching... accompanied by folk guitars, electric guitars, backing vocals, lots of backing vocals, long notes and very short sounds, drums, bass, piano and other instruments. You can hear in it the percussion of shoe heels, a trivet wedged between hammers and piano strings, a wooden stick tapping on a desk, the creak of a door, a telephone ringing, a candle melting...
