Golden Disko Ship, aka Theresa Stroetges is a Berlin-based composer, classically trained viola player, multi- instrumentalist and video artist. Firmly rooted in the DIY tradition, she has released a split LP on Monika Enterprise (2010) proceeded by a number of self-made albums which brought her attention from the press, including comparisons to Coco Rosie and Fourtet. As a one girl orchestra, she creates her live shows with instruments and both electronic and analogue sonic layers. Since 2007, she has toured in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the UK, Italy, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, the USA and Australia. Golden Disko Ship is renowned for her imaginative songscapes, crunchy distortion and squealing sounds that suggest eccentric drum machine abuse.
