Girotto, Javier & Aires Tango
30
Javier Girotto on soprano sax, Marco Siniscalco on electric bass, Alessandro Gwis on piano and Francesco de Rubeis (who now replaces the historic percussionist Michele Rabbia) on drums and percussion, together they form Aires Tango, a group born in 1994 from an idea of Girotto who was inspired by his own musical roots to merge them with the expressive methods typical of jazz, creating new musical terrain. Making explicit reference to the music of the great Astor Piazzolla, Javier Girotto & Aires Tango arrive at a repertoire of original music in progressive evolution, both for the creative impulse and for the continuous turnover of the musical material. With this album Javier Girotto & Aires Tango celebrate three decades of music, that is, almost a thousand stages shared between festivals and events all over the world. This album was born from the desire to celebrate a very important milestone for us, the 30 years of life of Aires Tango. Three decades spent making music together, including countless concerts, trips, meetings and many moments of life lived intensely. It is precisely to the most significant places and moments in the history of our group that the titles of the compositions contained in this album are dedicated. A project that originated during the pandemic period and which now, in some way, reminds us of our return to normality and the resumption of the artistic path of Aires Tango.
