Fourniau, Eleonore
Neynik
This first album, titled "Mirror," is the result of over twelve years spent by Eléonore Fourniau studying Kurdish music and immersing herself in this culture until becoming a recognized artist on the international stage. She accompanies herself on the hurdy-gurdy, a traditional European instrument. This album offers a sample of dialects and styles that constitute the richness of this region spanning four countries, as well as two original compositions. Eléonore Fourniau's arrangements propose unprecedented encounters between musicians and instruments from different traditions, including a featuring with the Dzambo Agusevi Orchestra and the participation of over thirty musicians.
