Flesh Produce
Couch Slime 1v
Seattle-based digital hardcore duo Flesh Produce unleashes their apocalyptic, genre-warping masterpiece Couch Slime IV on CorpoRAT Records, available for the first time on vinyl in spring 2025. This critically-acclaimed record is a sonic pressure cooker of EDM, noise rock, punk, sludge metal, hip-hop, and emo, now offered in three limited-edition color variants. Written during the height of the pandemic and the BLM protests, Couch Slime IV captures the feeling of an unraveling world. Tracks like "You Cant Make Me Fuck" explode with riot grrrl aggression, frantic percussion, and distorted electronic textures, while "Cross-Eyed/Dizzy" blends ethereal ambiance with chaotic tempo shifts. Elsewhere, "Scream Flips 1" and "Scream Flips 2" showcase Karl and Mylas unpredictable chemistry, reworking shared motifs into warped, high-energy compositions. Sonically, Couch Slime IV plays like the musical equivalent of deep-fried memes-live instrumental jams, mangled samples, and unrecognizable vocal and drum takes stitched together into jarring yet addictive compositions. Mylas lyrics pull from her traumatic upbringing in a religious cult, experiences as a trans sex worker, and existential musings on government conspiracies and modern decay. The result is an album that feels as anarchic and cathartic as Flesh Produces unhinged, high-energy live shows, which merge the intensity of a hardcore punk set with the body-moving chaos of an underground EDM rave. Formed in 2017, Flesh Produce-comprised of vocalist-guitarist-producer Myla Profitt and drummer-producer Karl Fagerstrom-has built a cult following with their chaotic yet precise production, visceral live performances, and deeply personal songwriting. The duos signature sound fuses blistering breakbeats, glitch-ridden soundscapes, and unpredictable tempo shifts, underpinned by raw, emotive lyricism that confronts themes of trauma, alienation, and defiance.
