Fatso Jetson/herba Mate
Early Shapes
From the land of cactus to the land of Sangiovese, from California to Romagna (Italy) - Fatso Jetson and Herba Mate have joined together in the split album "Early Shapes", a mix of desert, stoner, psychedelia, romanticism and thundering visions. The tracks by Herba Mate have been recorded at the Go Down Recording Studio in Savignano sul Rubicone (Fc) with a first "live" sound recording, an approach which is not new to the band. Among the tracks are the two instrumental "Desert Inn I" and "Desert Inn II", and two pieces featuring the voice of Alessandro Trerè: "Dance dance dance" and "Way down", the latter being a tribute to the Core, which is often performed live by the trio. The tracks by Fatso Jetson have different origins, but they all result from collaborations with friends and musicians from the stoner scene and even beyond: the first two tracks, "Living All Over You" and "Long Deep Breath", boast the participation of Mathias Schneeberger, who already collaborated with Mark Lanegan, Afghan Whigs, Brant Bjork and Mondo Generator, and of Abby Travis (Beck, The Bangles, Eagles Of Death Metal). The third track, "Nyquilt", features the participation of Adam Harding, an Australian film and video-maker (DJ Shadow, Lou Barlow) and musician (collaborations with members of Dinosaur Jr and Melvins).
