Barton's Den

After spending a decade as one-half of indie rock duo the Dodos, singer/guitarist Meric Long began writing music on two synthesizers he inherited from his father and embracing a wealth of childhood influences, including Nintendo soundtracks, Devo, Brian Eno, and Prince. Working primarily at night in a soundproofed Oakland garage after putting his newborn daughter to bed, the songs on Bartons Den represent a bold new direction from an accomplished songwriter with renewed creative energy.
