Erwan Menguy, an internationally acclaimed flautist, is launching his first eponymous creation. As leader of the quartet, he chooses to surround himself with string instruments for a very acoustic work, in the image of bluegrass bands or chamber music ensembles, on a repertoire based on his own compositions. For this new recording, he has teamed up with three talented musicians with whom he has worked for many years - Erwan Brenguer on guitar, Kevin Le Pennec on cistre and Hugues Lassere on double bass - with a view to bringing them together in a more substantial format, offering new possibilities for accompaniment, and allowing a different approach to the work of writing and arranging.
