Elmore D
L'integrale Cazi Complete De L'oeuvre D'elmore D
Elmore D is one of the last great bard to preserve Walloon identity. In waters that combine the river Meuse and the river Mississippi, he draws from seminal blues the anti-authority spirit and the socio-regional anchors he uses to tell stories of hard-working labourers, anti-establishment attitudes and the lives of simple folk whose births he has witnessed. And he has all the cards to tell those stories: a powerful, melancholy voice, together with playing that shines in the absence of all frills and complacency. Elmore D (born Daniel Droixhe) is also a Man of Letters & The Humanities: this popular singer in the Walloon dialect, philologist and 18th century historian, is also a member of the Royal Belgian Academy of French Language & Literature. And, as a young man, he was also an illustrator for Hara Kiri magazine_ In addition to the bonds of esteem and friendship that tie FrEmeaux & AssociEs to the bluesman from LiEge, we are proud to present the already-revealed part of the discography of an artist whose humanity contains beauty and greatness.
