Dyer, Tom -& The True Olympians-

Historie Of North West Rock 2; 1970-1980

Tom Dyers third album in his history series, following History of NW Rock Vol. 1: 1959-1968 and Olympia: A True Story. These are not unbiased histories, these are a reflection of Dyers experiences, preferences and tastes. Volume 2 runs from 1970 to 1980, with the majority of songs coming from the punk rock days of 77-80. Like Vol. 1, these are interpretations rather than simple copies. Dyer: These bands had an impact on the music I make - I thought they were all pretty damn cool. It was a fun challenge to come up with a really new approach to these songs, while keeping their essential spirit. Featuring the songs of: The Accident; Ballin Jack; Jim Basnight; The Beakers; Blackouts; Chinas Comidas; The Colorplates; The Enemy; The Heats; Heart; Jimi Hendrix; The Macs; Red Dress; SNots; Student Nurse; Telepaths.
