Drummer, Joan Reggae -all Stars-

Stronger Together

With "Stronger Together", Joan Reggae Drummer delivers the most mature and ambitious work of his career. An album that consolidates his artistic identity and establishes a direct dialogue with the essence of 1970s roots reggae, reinterpreted through a contemporary, global, and conscious perspective. Inspired by the legacy of Carlton Barrett, the iconic drummer of Bob Marley & The Wailers, the album does not aim to imitate but to deeply assimilate his rhythmic language: an organic, elegant, and spiritual groove where every detail has meaning. In this context, the drums become a narrative tool serving both the song and its message. The project features the collaboration of outstanding musicians such as Venezuelan guitarist Arturo Landaeta, Joan's long-time collaborator, and Roger Santaeugènia, who handled the mixing and co-produced the album alongside Joan. Together, they achieve a solid, cohesive sound with a distinct identity. Recorded between Catalonia, Jamaica, and Brazil, including sessions at the legendary Tuff Gong Recording Studios, the album also features Jamaican artists such as Marlon Brown, Gubu Caparchy, Dahvid Slur, Space Kat, and Aston Barrett Jr., bringing authenticity and rich sonic depth to the project. One of the album's strongest elements is its powerful vocal lineup, led by Alessandro Dasplanta as the main vocalist, both live and across much of the record, adding character and strength to the project. Alongside him, Aya Sima and Genni Knows on backing vocals complete the vocal core. Their consistent presence throughout the album brings a spiritual dimension and warmth that reinforces the message, with standout moments as soloists as well. The 10 tracks that make up "Stronger Together" explore universal themes such as social awareness, freedom of thought, love, and collective responsibility, with human unity at its core. More than just an album, it is a statement of intent that reaffirms reggae's enduring role as music of consciousness. At the same time, Joan continues to build a strong career as a session drummer, contributing to recordings and productions with artists from around the world. Among his most notable works is his contribution to "Sweet Love" by African superstar Burna Boy, featured on the album No Sign of Weakness, nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards in the category of Best Global Music Album, an achievement that further highlights his growing presence and reputation on the international music scene.
