Utilizing warm pads and the ambient sounds of nature, electronic artist Chypho seems to perfectly capture snapshots of insect life in a garden throughout the day, through both its more exciting and uptempo tracks, and its softer more melodic pieces. Entomongaku opens with the track "Dewdrop", which perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of morning with its ever so catchy five note motif. Not all songs serve as meditative motors though, with tracks like "Dandelion Sailing", and "Chrysoperla" presenting a more airy and uptempo vibe. The album winds down with "The Night Choir" giving us a peaceful transition into night after all the varied events of the day. The compositions are dynamic in feel, yet cohesive in sound, making this album enjoyable to those who wish to play it in the background and accompany their life, or those who would prefer to sit and immerse themselves in it.
