This 2-CD set features actor Jean-Pierre Cassel reading three novels by Francis Scott FITZGERALD - in French: "TEte à claque" (1924), "Entre 3 et 4" (1931) and "L'un de mes plus vieux amis" (1924). The spirit of the period is brought back to life, when America was revelling in success and smiling to winners, but is still fragile. These novels were intended to be published in newspapers, and were written for personal reading as well as for story-telling with friends or the family. They were thus designed to be told with no pretence, as we can appreciate here.
