Recorded and first released on Columbia in 1957 this album sees trumpeter Donald Byrd and alto sax player Gigi Gryce teaming up and leading a group of strong partners such as Jimmy Cleveland - trombone, Julius Watkins - French horn, Sahib Shihab - baritone sax, Wynton Kelly - piano, Wendell Marshall - bass and Art Taylor - drums, plus the guest appearance of Jackie Paris on banjo on one track and vocals on two others.
