Bottcher, Jens
Vii: Die Wunden Und Die Wunder
The versatile German musician and writer Jens Boettcher, winner of the Blauer Lowe culture prize and honoured with the German Record Critics' Award, is releasing his seventh solo album "Die Wunden und die Wunder" on Timezone - a courageous, free-spirited, honest, unconventional and intense work that deliberately disregards the usual boundaries of the singer-songwriter genre and alternately embeds Boettcher's usual poetic lyrics in folk, chamber ballads a la Tom Waits, gospel, alternative rock and deconstructed pop. In his songs and books, Jens Boettcher has been singing and writing for years about life as a spiritual journey, the adventures of being human and the intermittent triumphs and tragedies of all our attempts to find and hold on to love. All of this is imbued with spirituality, melancholy, hope and humour - and for a while now with clear words that seek to counter the social division of these days with theories of reconciliation (for a while his blog bore this title), repeated encouragement for open-hearted communication and peace-moving content. After years of freelancing for the satire programme Extra3 (ARD/NDR) and his own TV talk show Tiefsehtauchen, Jens' new talk format "Lichtspielhaus" has also been available on YouTube for a while now.
