Blue Prospective, The
Prospettive
Prospettive arises from the meeting of alto saxophone, vibraphone and marimba, an unusual scoring that redraws the coordinates of the jazz trio. The project interweaves works by Paolo Recchia, Jordan Corda and Andrea Mellace with pieces by Seamus Blake, Bobby Hutcherson, Mulgrew Miller, Joshua Redman and Horace Silver, moving between mainstream and contemporary jazz. Without double bass or drums, pulse, harmonic support and timbral depth pass to the keyboard idiophones, while the saxophone occupies a mobile space between song, rhythmic incision and the memory of the great alto lineage. A sonic geometry of angles, reflections and triangulations emerges, where arrangement and improvisation sustain an audacious inquiry: not a single perspective, but multiple viewpoints on present-day jazz.
