The musician gives us time so that we can listen to the sound of the bass trombone. Conny Bauer's warm trombone tone,which we know from his playing on the tenor trombone,is even more pronounced here. During the listening pleasure we experience improvisations through perfect mastery of the instrument, polyphony through the addition of a hummed tone created by Bauer, circular technique, etc. The overdubbing, which can also be experienced live by the musician,is brought to perfection here.It sparkles with vitality,love of life and wit.It's great fun to listen to. In 2017 he had the opportunity to record his improvisations with the bass trombone at studioboerne45 in Berlin.The fact that there is now the opportunity to publish and distribute these recordings in 2023,the year of Conny Bauer's 80th birthday and the awarding of the Albert Mangelsdorff Prize, is a stroke of luck and a joy for all jazz lovers.
