Agberos International
Officially available for the first time in stores: the fifth Bantu studio album of 2017 (starring Tony Allen) in CD digipack with booklet on Soledad Productions. While Bantu (Brotherhood Alliance Navigating To Unity), the band around founding member and singer Ade Odukoya, has been a fluid project with changing producers and studio setups since 1996, Agberos International was recorded for the first time as a 13-strong band and without samples and electronics realized live in the studio.It took more than six years until the ten tracks were completed in their final form, a wonderfully varied and groovy Afrobeat spectacle with plenty of influences from high life to hip hop, R&B and folk to US soul their regular "Afropolitan Vibes" concerts in Lagos, the band developed the form in which it shines to this day, "Agberos International" forms a trilogy of this progression with the followers "Everybody Get Agenda" and "What Is Your Breaking Point?". Even here the lyrics of the colorful songs are biting reckonings with the repressive politics of the West and the corruption of African elites.On "Niger Delta Blues" the Afromusic eminence and Fela Kuti legend Tony Allen makes a guest appearance on drums!
