Autschbach, Peter

Reflections

Peter Autschbach's new album "Reflections" features eleven tracks, all recorded on acoustic guitars. In addition to true solo guitar works with extended improvisational passages, there are three pieces that include additional instruments, such as the electric bass played by the seasoned low-end expert Nico Deppisch, who has been part of Autschbach's band TA2 for many years. The opener of the album is titled "Fretless", but here, it's not a fretless bass that surprises, but Peter Autschbach playing the fretless nylon-string guitar a sound that truly stands out. On this new production, "Reflections", the well-known guitarist also showcases his singing. Audiences have responded enthusiastically to his arrangements of the Steely Dan classics "Babylon Sisters" and "Deacon Blues" during his concerts, both of which are featured on the album in solo guitar and vocal versions. On the Autschbach composition "Rodrigues", he has allowed himself to whistle the melody, giving the airy arrangement a special lightness.
