Ar-kaics, The
Ix B/w X
Virginia's venerable "Garage Rock Freaks", The Ar-kaics, are back with two new hammers, pressed for maximum Body Rock at 45RPM on the band's own Dig! Records imprint. "IX" & "X" follow The Ar-kaics further down the windy and surreal path of their 2024 album for Feel It Records, 'See The World On Fire'. Far out and primal, the band continues to find it's way (right or wrong) from their Dojo (Johnny's bedroom/garage) in the woods. There, The Ar-kaics crafted nearly every aspect of the release, from the writing and recording to the artwork and pressing itself. With expert help from Kevin Willoughby (of Eyrie Studios) onsite at the Dojo and 'Fucking Champ' Tim Green mastering from afar at Louder Studios, this release is home-spun, handmade, and hard-won from The Ar-kaics forested HQ. The results will appeal to (or appall) anyone who's followed The Ar-kaics catalogue so far. It's either/or, with no in-between, in these dark sounds of the soul. Dark tunes for dark times.
