Andersson, Anna-karin
Gransland
The borderland (Gransland) is a cold and icy place, filled with mystery and old stories. If you listen really carefully, you can hear the hardanger fiddle echoing between the mountains. Cold, clear and enchanting. Anna-Karin Anderssons epic solo debut album Gransland is the result from many years of curiosity, exploration of the Norwegian folk music tradition, and the joy of playing music. Anna-Karin Andersson is one of the younger generation of folk musicians who has established herself on the Nordic folk music scene. Her incredible way of playing the hardanger fiddle with rythms, frasing, and brilliance, together with a raw and heavy fiddle sound, takes the listener to another world. With great passion and a big confidence she now releases her first solo album where she combines traditional Norwegian folk tunes with her own compositions.
