For this second album dedicated to Monks music, Yves Marcotte expanded his pianoless quartet with two singular voices of todays european jazz scene : alto player Christophe Monniot and trombonist Nils Wogram. The arrangements gain density, and intensity with inspired and fiery performance from both the guests and band members Shems Bendali, Zacharie Canut and Nathan Vandenbulcke. With bold stylistic choices, this album is another milestone on a path towards a new and personal approach to a genius of modern musics legacy.
