Ten years after they began working together Tarek Abdallah and Adel Shams El Din have collaborated in total harmony to build this new opus. Their compositions follow the model of the Near Eastern musical suite, wasla, which links forms of different cycles in the same mode, maqam. While retaining modal improvisation as a central element, they continue using traditional rhythmic cycles, but they are also inventing new ones.
