Ninja Gun
Restless Rubes (euro)
"Restless Rubes" is the soundtrack for Summer as it marries Classic Southern Rock, Pop-punk, Indie Rock, and Power Pop. Think the Shins meet Tom Petty meets the Kinks. I really think the guys should have been a band in the 70's as they have more in common with that era of guitar rock and power pop than anything going on now. The record is pop perfection and the guys are perfectly Southern. Coody, the band's singer is the son of a Southern Georgian pig farmer and the record was recorded by funds loaned to them from their drummer's father, a chicken farmer. It doesn't get more Southern than that. And although South Georgia is their residence, they call Gainesville, Florida, home. You may not hear it in their music, but they live, eat, and breathe the same life that birthed Hot Water Music, Less Than Jake, and Against Me.
