Chacalon Y La Nueva Crema

Chacalon Y La Nueva Crema

Debut album by the most revered and iconic figure in chicha: Chacalón. Absolutely essential for anyone interested in psychedelic cumbia and the roots of Peruvian chicha. His music combines distorted electric guitars with tropical percussion and the influence of huayno, while his lyrics speak to the working classes who migrated from rural areas to the major cities in search of better employment opportunities. Chacalón became a cult figure among the most disadvantaged sectors of Peruvian society. This reissue features the original Discos Horóscopo artwork and liner notes by expert Víctor Zela (La cumbia de mis viejos).
